Tai Chi is an ancient form of exercise, combining Martial Arts and Meditation. It both relaxes and energizes the body, developing balance, flexibility, and deep breathing. It is based on the concept of Chi - the Life Force, or Energy of the Universe, that flows through every living being. Tai Chi practitioners learn to tap into this energy, and learn to move with strength, grace, and agility. Tai Chi can benefit any person, at any age, and at any level of physical ability.
The form taught in this class was developed by Hubert (Hok Hoi) Lui, 1911-1995, a master teacher for over 30 years and founder of the Cloud Hands Tai Chi Association. It is a combination of Yang and Wu styles, blending the strengths of each. Teachers are experienced practitioners who have studied under Mr. Lui. This form emphasizes spiraling energy, for maximum development of the Chi.
